Karl G. Finegan
Founder and Managing Principal
Mr. Finegan is the Founder and Managing Principal of Aeterna Capital, responsible for implementing investment strategies and portfolio management from acquisition to exit. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. for 16 years, where he was a member of the Distressed and High Yield Bond business.
Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Finegan worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Europe, where he managed the external audits of global corporations. From 2013 thru 2015, he set up a Distressed Real Estate fund in Miami to take advantage of asset price dislocations caused by the global financial crisis, with a successful exit in late 2015. Mr. Finegan earned his B.A Honors in Economics and French from the University College Dublin. He also earned a Professional Diploma in Accounting from Dublin City University and was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Mr. Finegan is an advisor to several of Aeterna's portfolio companies.
MICHAEL H. SOLLOTT
MANAGING PRINCIPAL
Michael H. Sollott is the Managing Principal of Aeterna Capital, responsible for implementing investment strategies and portfolio management.
Previously, Mr. Sollott was the Head of Portfolio Management and co-founder of Eidesis Capital (“Eidesis”), a special situations-focused asset management firm that, beginning in 1998, raised and deployed over $2.5bn of capital through special opportunity funds focused on strategies in high yield corporate bonds and loans, credit derivatives, distressed collateralized debt obligations (“CDOs”) and mortgage securitizations.
Prior to Eidesis, Mr. Sollott was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Falcon Asset Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of USF&G Corp., where he established the high-yield department that grew to more than $800 mm in assets under management and launched a successful CDO business in 1996. Mr. Sollott is a CFA charterholder. He received his M.B.A from the University of Michigan and his B.S. from Duke University.
Rainy Guo
Investor
Rainy Guo is an investor at Aeterna Capital, responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, implementing investment strategies and portfolio management from acquisition through exit.
Previously, Ms. Guo was an investment banker at Citigroup in New York and Hong Kong, where she advised on cross-border mergers and acquisitions as well as large scale initial public offerings. She also has experiences across venture capital and private equity, evaluating opportunities spanning early stage VC, growth equity and leveraged buyout.
Ms. Guo is a CPA candidate and holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
